I just wanted to share a great moment from the classroom this week. We were about to read a story about Helen Keller from our reading book. I asked our "essential question" before the reading which asked the students how do you tell the important information from a story from the non-important information. Miss Lola K. answered this,
"You have the main characters in the story and you know you need to pay attention to what they are doing in the story and what is going on around them. Then you have the supporting characters in the story, they aren't as important ,but they do interact with the main character in the story."
Wow! Grea
