I just wanted to share a great moment from the classroom this week. We were about to read a story about Helen Keller from our reading book. I asked our "essential question" before the reading which asked the students how do you tell the important information from a story from the non-important information. Miss Lola K. answered this,
"You have the main characters in the story and you know you need to pay attention to what they are doing in the story and what is going on around them. Then you have the supporting characters in the story, they aren't as important ,but they do interact with the main character in the story." Wow! Grea Mignon McLaughlin, journalist and author "Only where children gather is there any real chance of fun."
This quote is so true, don't kids know how to have fun and make us smile? Enjoy this winter weather by playing in the snow with your children. |
